Hardware Integration

Kiosk Hardware Integration: OS, APIs & Peripherals | Levinko

Kiosk hardware integration rarely fails because of the panel. It fails at the seams — an OS image that won't talk to the card reader, a peripheral that works on the bench but not in the enclosure, a driver that only the factory can rebuild. Levinko has manufactured commercial touch screens and LCD displays in Shenzhen since 2010, and we treat integration as part of the hardware spec, not an afterthought. This page explains what we support natively, what we validate with your team, and what stays on your software side.

Native OS Support: Android, Windows, Linux

Our platforms support Android, Windows, and Linux natively across our product lines; OS availability is confirmed per model and configuration. Our six product lines are wall-mounted tablets and panels, POS hardware, digital signage and commercial displays, self-service kiosks, industrial touch panel PCs, and computing modules and mainboards.

For systems integrators, the practical benefit is that you can standardize on one enclosure and one mounting design while shipping different OS configurations to different clients. We configure the OS to your specification per model.

Because computing modules and mainboards are one of our own product lines, board and display configuration can be specified together for your project; the OS is configured to your specification per model.

Open API & SDK for Software Integration

API/SDK access for software integration is available; scope and supported models are confirmed per project. The open API/SDK lets your application work with device functions and the standard peripherals (NFC/RFID, RS485); scope is confirmed per project.

This matters most to SaaS companies. If your product already runs on tablet or kiosk hardware elsewhere, the SDK is where your existing application logic meets ours. We provide interface documentation per project; your developers integrate against it.

Peripheral Support: PoE, NFC/RFID, RS485

We support three peripheral categories as standard options:

  • PoE power — data and power over a single Ethernet run, which simplifies mounting where a mains drop isn't practical.
  • NFC/RFID reading — for access control, loyalty identification, and payment-adjacent workflows.
  • RS485 industrial control — for connecting to industrial equipment, sensors, and legacy control systems alongside the touch interface.

Other peripherals, such as card readers, scanners, printers or payment modules, are evaluated for integration per project; if feasible, they are designed into the unit rather than bolted on afterwards. Confirm your peripheral list early — enclosure space, power budget, and antenna placement for NFC/RFID all depend on it.

What We Verify vs. What You Validate

We are explicit about the boundary, because ambiguity here causes deployment surprises.

We verify before shipment: Before shipment, every unit passes our QC team's inspection and a mandatory 24-hour continuous aging test; specific functional test items are confirmed per configuration.

Integration testing with your application: we can coordinate with your team to validate your application and peripheral combination on target hardware; scope is agreed per project.

Your responsibility: application logic, business rules, backend and cloud services, user interface, and payment application certification. We provide the hardware and the integration surface; the software stack above it is yours.

From Prototype to Production

Rapid prototyping takes 3–5 days, which lets your team validate a hardware and software combination before committing to a production run. From there, OEM/ODM customization covers enclosure, branding, board configuration, and peripheral options (PoE, NFC/RFID, RS485 as standard; others evaluated per project).

Production runs out of a 3,000 sqm facility with high-precision SMT lines and standardized assembly. We use A-grade LCD panels across the range. Certificates are available upon request.

Our customers are mainly SaaS companies and system integrators deploying in Europe, the USA, Japan, and South Korea — markets where documentation, consistency between units, and repeatable integration matter as much as unit cost.

Start With Your Integration Requirements

The fastest way to scope a project is to send us four things: target OS, peripheral list, deployment environment, and whether you need API/SDK access for a custom application. We'll come back with a configuration and a prototyping timeline.
